Facebook emoji panel completely locks up Brave tabs when being used. Happens more quickly when scrolling.
To reproduce:
Login to facebook
Start a comment on your timeline
Click the emoji panel button
Select emoji(s)
or Scroll
Notice lockup
Tab becomes slow then completely unresponsive. This has been an ongoing issue for at least 6 months, messaged facebook about it and nothing happened so presume it’s browser specific.
Version 1.34.81 Chromium: 97.0.4692.99 (Official Build) (64-bit)
Dual Xeon 269x with 32 hardware threads and 32gb ram
Seems like someone fixed this as it’s now not happening in the latest update.
It’s possible Facebook fixed it as I reported it to them again too.
edit: nope, but it might only happen when multiple facebook windows are open. I’m wondering if it’s an instance problem, ie 2 instances of the emoji bar scrolling fight each other. This would lead me to believe it’s something to do with resources on the backend in brave, shared GUID image hashes in an element map or something maybe?
