ESPN.com does not stop loading with shields up

Description of the issue:
Visiting espn.com on Brave 0.67.124 on OSX 10.14.6 results in a tab that does not stop loading. CPU begins to race (Process will display over 100% CPU). The icon in the left side of the tab continues to “spin” (indicating still loading).

The process that appears to use up 100%+ CPU is /Applications/Brave Browser.app/Contents/Frameworks/Brave Browser Framework.framework/Versions/76.0.67.124/Helpers/Brave Browser Helper (Renderer).app/Contents/MacOS/Brave Browser Helper (Renderer)

Disabling shields works around this issue.

Steps to Reproduce (add as many as necessary): 1. 2. 3.

  1. Open up new tab.
  2. Go to espn.com
  3. wait.
  4. Disable shields and page is re-loaded (successfully)

Actual Result (gifs and screenshots are welcome!):

Expected result:
With shields down, page loads in a few seconds.
Reproduces how often:
Every time.
Operating System and Brave Version(See the About Brave page in the main menu):
Brave 0.67.124 on OSX 10.14.6
Additional Information:

The same thing happens on Windows - without the cpu-load. It seems like the memory usage goes up indefinitely. And eventually the page crashes.

Version 0.67.124 Chromium: 76.0.3809.100 (Official Build) (64-bit)
Windows 10 pro (build 17134.345)

Okay took a look. After a bit of debugging.

This should fix it: (Brave lists will be updated in the next 24-48hrs)

@fanboynz is there a way to tell when the filters have been updated or to force an update?

Atleast my Brave release has the update now. a hard refresh and espn is now not endless reloading.
