Entered a Question and Got Wrong Answers

Description of the issue

In the address field, I posted a question: can you be elected to Congress or serve in government after being U.S. President

After a brief answer, examples were provided (see below) that were incorrect.

Notable examples

  • Andrew Johnson, the 17th President of the United States, was impeached and removed from office in 1868. He later served as a U.S. Senator from Tennessee from 1875 until his death in 1875.

Served as U.S. Senator from TN, 1857-1862 & 1875. He was impeached by the House but NOT convicted in the Senate, thereby NOT being removed from office. <<

  • Warren G. Harding, the 29th President of the United States, died in office in 1923. His vice president, Calvin Coolidge, became President and later served as a U.S. Senator from Massachusetts from 1919 until his death in 1933.

Coolidge was MA State Senator, 1911-1916; MA Lt. Gov, 1916-1918; MA Governor, 1918-1921; U.S. VP, 1921-1923; U.S. President, 1923-1929. He then retired from public life. <<

  • John F. Kennedy, the 35th President of the United States, was assassinated in 1963. His vice president, Lyndon B. Johnson, became President and later served as a U.S. Senator from Texas from 1949 until his death in 1973.

LBJ was U.S. Representative from TX, 1937-1949; U.S. Senator from TX, 1948-1961; U.S. VP, 1961-1963; U.S. President, 1963-1969. He then retired from public office. Died, 1973. <<
