Empty Cache Hard Reload breaks

Description of the issue:
While using inspector if i perform an “Empty Cache Hard Reload” from the refresh button, my cursor no longer changes to a “pointer” on hover over any elements. ALSO the pointer does not indicate any hover actions in the inspector window (Highlight elements on hover, resize windows/sections).

Steps to Reproduce (add as many as necessary): 1. 2. 3.

  1. Open inspector.
  2. Hover over elements on a page and select elements with the inspector tool (for verification that things are working properly).
  3. Right click on the refresh page, choose “Empty Cache Hard Reload”.
  4. Retry step 2.

Actual Result (gifs and screenshots are welcome!):

Expected result:
Things will work like in step 2.

Reproduces how often:
Everytime I perform an “Empty Cache Hard Reload”.

Operating System and Brave Version(See the About Brave page in the main menu):
Version 0.67.124 Chromium: 76.0.3809.100 (Official Build) (64-bit)
MacOS 10.14.4 (18E226)

Additional Information:

@rockr321,
Thank you for reaching out and great write up – very clear instructions/description. We appreciate that!
Testing on my however I seem to get different results – namely that the issue doesn’t occur. If I’m understanding your issue correctly, after I [right-click] --> Empty Cache and Hard Reload, the mouse should no longer be a “pointer” when inspecting page elements. But everything seems to be working properly (sorry for the 3x speed of the gif):

To clarify – these are the same steps you’re performing that lead to your issue, correct?

Yes, I also just tried it on Chrome and am getting the same issue. I’m wondering if it has to do with my Mac or my laravel velet. Currently the only way to fix it is to quite the browser and reopen it.

 This sounds like the culprit to me – is there any way you can test in a separate environment to confirm?

I stopped valet and could not reproduce the problem, then I turned it back on and still couldn’t reproduce it. It could definitely be a bug in Laravel.

Thanks!
