Durable 'Named Windows' (even if they're empty!)

Please add a way to retain Named Windows, even without any tabs.

I would find it very useful to be able to see those windows in the Window dropdown menu (Mac). Currently, once they have no tabs such windows disappear.

Note that deletion of all files in standard file directories, e.g., in the Mac Finder, does not remove the folder. Same idea here.

Thanks.

The “Close window when closing last tab” setting does a bit of what you want. It will keep all windows open when tabs are closed, you can close un-named ones with the window’s close button.

Alternatively, you can assign a shortcut to the Name A Window functionality, so even if you close those windows it’s easy to recreate them.

“Close window when closing last tab” setting

Thanks!… I somehow never noticed that setting before.

Not sure I understand the ‘shortcut’. How is it different than just hitting one of the default key commands to open a ‘new window’ of the desired type – regular, Private or Private TOR?
There’s no ‘window name’ retention that can be attached to it, or is there?

I have a shortcut for that.

I do Alt-N and the “name this window” dialog box pops up. I like Alt-N to go with Control-N (to open a new window). Also not used for anything else.

I find this more convenient than digging through the menu each time.

I had actually created the same keystroke for it after reading @Mythical5th’s reply.

The right-click I’ve been using until now would be as good in my view if it didn’t require relocating to the upper screen.

Thanks.
