Ddg settings reset automatically after a couple of days
How can this issue be reproduced?
Expected result:
Reset of the settings.
Settings should be saved and not reset unless cookies or data are cleared

Can you check your Shield settings as well as if you are clearing browsing data when exiting Brave?
You can do this by going to brave://settings/clearBrowserData and clicking On exit
