Dubious ads getting through on a YouTube converter website

Did the issue present with default Shields settings?
No. My settings were: Ads/trackers blocked, connections encrypted, All cookies blocked, all Skripts allowed, Device recognition blocked. Maybe it will happen with default settings as well, I didn’t try.

Where and how do the ads appear? (fill out below)
On http://convert2mp3.net with cookies blocked but scripts allowed. You paste a YouTube-Link, select the mp4 format and click “convert”/“umwandeln”. A new tab opens then with an ad loading. In my case it was the address below. It usually happens once, then if you click on >convert< a second time, it does the job.

URL where ad was displayed:
I have no idea whether this link is safe or not, this was the ad that came up:

Screenshot of ad as it appears on the webpage:
It’s a new tab that opens, see link above or reproduce the issue as described.

What Brave version/Build are you using? (About Brave)
Latest version 0.60.45 Chromium: 72.0.3626.109 (Official Build) (64-Bit) on Mac 10.11.6 El Capitan

I’ve never had any problems with convert2mp3 so far, I can’t reproduce this.

Obviously, as I said, you need to have scripts allowed.
The site works with scripts disabled but then has limited functionality.
Also, if you don’t have my OS, it might not occur in other versions.
I just tried it again with the new release and the ads still occur. Updated the OP accordingly.

Pushing this as the tab with ads keeps popping up every time I use this downloader.
Still persistent after new release today.

Apologies for the delay. Lots going on but I will look into this asap - thank you for your patience.

Tested this again with the new Brave release (Version 0.63.48 Chromium: 74.0.3729.108) and the ads still get through.

Okay, should be fixed. The popups may still occur, but the adservers should be blocked outright.

@fanboynz Thanks. Is Brave shields subscribed to easy list? I think they were back when Muon was still a thing, don’t know about now.

Just tested it and the ads still come up but maybe it will be solved after the next update.
With uBlock on, I never had the problem thought - no popups at all.
