Hello everyone.
I just create a new installation on my computer with 3 os : Windows, Arch and Kali.
Kali and Arch have the same /Home.
When i try to launch Brave on Kali , nothing appear. When i try to launch brave with the command line ( command : brave-browser ) , I have a error that says 2 instance are simultany running on my computer.
i have tried to reinstall brave in my kali but nothing changed.
I dont have any problem with Brave running sub windows
My version in arch : 1.64.116 official build.
I will add to this message a screen of what appear in my kali.
thank you for taking the time to read my message and have a good day ^^
Look into this setting: brave://settings/manageProfile
You can type this in the URL section like a website, and you should land directly in the right setting place. There you may see the same Profilename as you used at the zombiearch machine on your side. You can try to rename the profile and restart brave.
Else, you can create a new default profile for your zombiekali machine with the following command:
brave-browser --profile-directory="Default"
After this you can close brave and restart it from the launch icon as normal.
Another thing to try when you don’t want to do the mentioned stuff is to delete the SingletonLock file in the config directory of brave, as already discussed here. This would be in the following directory:
~/.config/BraveSoftware/Brave-Browser/
There you can delete the SingletonLock file. After this, it should be possible to start brave without any problems.
Important Notice: I can’t say what the consequences of this mentioned unlocking profile steps are but keep in mind it could lead to data corruption and other unexpected behavior. The preventing to launch brave is a security check to not lose or get data corrupted.
