Dropbox on browser does not load on Brave

When attempting to load dropbox on browser via brave browser on desktop, the landing page never loads - the page appears blank. I’ve had this issue on and off over the last year or so, though it usually ends up resolving itself somehow after a bit. This time around, however, the site has consistently not worked for the last several months. If i need to download a file from a dropbox link that has been sent to me, I end up having to paste it into another browser to successfully download it.

@not_theo Hey, let’s see what we can figure out. Just a heads up, when you created this topic and chose a category, it had a template with information that is helpful. It’s always worth filling out. If nothing else, for us to know which OS and version of Brave you’re using. I know you put Mac OS, but there are many versions of Mac and all can have differences on issues. Not to mention there’s no telling if you’re using an outdated version of Brave or even if you might be using the most recent of either Brave, Brave Beta, or Brave Nightly. So the extra details can often help us in testing and considering what’s going on.

Next thing, are you saying simply going to it doesn’t load? For example, I just went to https://www.dropbox.com/ and it opened right away:

Then I went ahead and logged in. It immediately seems to have loaded

So it makes it seem like it may not be a browser issue. Not being able to replicate your issue, we’d go to the troubleshooting steps that often get suggested to people. Each of the steps supposed to be tried on their own and then can be undone if it doesn’t resolved:

  1. Does disabling Shields make any difference?

  2. If you open in a private window, does it open with no issues?

  3. Can you create a second browser profile within Brave and test on that? Make sure you don’t add extensions or change settings, just use it as is and see if it loads better.

  4. If none of those work, then perhaps to try on a different channel of Brave. So if you’re using normal Brave (Release), then you’d try on Brave Beta or Brave Nightly.

  5. Last thing, if somehow see same issue in all of the above, then would ask you to test on Chrome to just make sure it’s not a chromium issue.
