Dragging tab to its own window shifts desktop

Description of the issue:

When dragging a tab off the window to get its own window, it always shifts to my rightmost desktop in macOS Catalina, instead of just staying in the same desktop. I’d much prefer it to stay in the same desktop, as I have 9 desktops, each with its own purpose, and I keep Brave on the second one, so constantly having to drag the new window 7 desktops over is kind of annoying.

How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Set OSX Catalina to have multiple Desktops
  2. Open several tabs in Brave
  3. Drag a tab out of the window

Expected result:

Tab gets its own window, but moves to the rightmost desktop

Brave Version( check About Brave):

Version 1.8.96 Chromium: 81.0.4044.138 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Additional Information:

OS: macOS 10.15.4 Catalina

Can you share a short screen recording of this behavior as you see it on your end? I’m personally not able to reproduce the issue using Brave stable on macOS Catalina 10.15.4.

Sure, here’s a link to the video: https://gofile.io/d/jRomAJ

Yes that is super weird and very annoying, I’m sure. Is Brave the only browser that behaves this way? If you were to open Chrome for example, would tabs tear off into the second desktop in this same way?
