Drag and drop file uploads no longer working

Description of the issue:
Attempting to upload a file by drag and drop fails on multiple websites

Steps to Reproduce (add as many as necessary): 1. 2. 3.
Drag a file from Windows explorer to any web page that accepts drag and drop file upload

Actual Result (gifs and screenshots are welcome!):
simply fails, ie. ‘no entry’ icon shows, or ‘minus sign’ icon.

Expected result:
website should acknowledge file is ready for upload

Reproduces how often:
Every time, on multiple sites:

Operating System and Brave Version(See the About Brave page in the main menu):
OS: Windows 10 Pro (version 22H2)
Brave: Version 1.69.168 Chromium: 128.0.6613.138 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Additional Information:
Does not fail on other browsers, ie. Chrome, Firefox, Opera, Edge

@Pavlo just used on Windows 11 and no issue. It worked flawlessly on all links. Example of one is right below. Are you using any extensions or have you done something like enable Block Scripts?

I have a fresh (re-)install of Brave, with no extensions.

‘Block scripts’ is off.

I have even switched off Brave Shields for these sites.

Same issue here, Brave v1.70.126 on Kubuntu 24.10
Working fine in current version of Firefox on same OS

My (belated) thanks to Saoiray, and other contributors - but this issue still persists

FIX?:
Full uninstall brave and install it through Microsoft store.
Worked for me, classic reinstall from brave site did not work for me so I tried this.

Thanks Kedlub. Yes - uninstalling Brave, then re-install using Microsoft store does work. All sites now accept ‘drag & drop’ uploads.
Curious though, as it’s the same Brave version number as I uninstalled![Version 1.71.121 Chromium: 130.0.6723.91 (Official Build) (64-bit)]
