Dozens of devices in Sync Chain not recognized

UPDATE: I deleted the iPhone and re-added it to the sync chain, and now, only my devices appear in the list. STILL, that was crazy and disturbing.

Also, why don’t the passwords sync? I mean bookmarks, sure, that’s helpful, but the passwords are going to be an extreme pain in the butt adding them one at a time all across the web.

How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Followed instructions for setting up a sync chain between desktop (iMac OS 10.15.7) and phone
  2. Opened up sync settings on phone
  3. Saw a crazy number of devices listed that are not, nor ever have been, mine.

Expected result: Not this

Additional Information:

If these devices can truly manage the syncing between my devices and other ppls devices, this is kind of a galaxy-sized security hole, right?
