Downloads keep saying "Check Internet Connection"

I’m trying to download a file but it keeps saying “check internet connection” but im connected? what can be the cause?

Please edit your Original Post (“OP”) above, to include:

  • Brave Browser version numbers
  • Operating System version numbers

For testing, please DISABLE:

  • Anti-Virus
  • ALL of the extensions that you installed

Have you ever renamed your default Downloads folder?

Have you ever assigned some other folder to the task?

Are you using that folder for all of your downloads?

For testing, uou might create a “Downloads_TEST” folder at, and temporarily use:

C:\Downloads_TEST\

Using Brave Browser, please Download The Following Test File and report the success or failure, and, where the file landed.

A simple text (TXT) file. The contents are one word: ‘test’:
