Description of the issue:
I cannot download torrents from Librivox of out of copyright books. Why?
How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. go to book title on Librivox and click on “Torrent” button on the book’s page and a screen appears with a gibberish string of letters saying I cannot do that.

Expected result:
Torrent downloaded successfully.
Brave Version( check About Brave):
Version 1.77.100 Chromium: 135.0.7049.100 (Official Build) (64-bit) took entirely too long to find this info in the browser, not straightforward at all.

Are you trying to download the torrent using the built-in webtorrent feature in the browser, or are you using a torrent client installed on your system?

Yes, that is where I found the version info as included in my message to you. However getting to that point was bit like Hitchikers Guide to the Galaxy’s Arthur Dent getting to the planning commission regarding the demolition of his home.
I was trying to download via the built-in webtorrent feature in the browser.

On my end this works just fine – can you please try creating a fresh browser profile (Menu --More tools --> Add profile), closing your original profile window and then testing to see if the torrent runs as expected in the new profile?
