Double click required in “Remember password” dialogue / modal (and others)

When the browser prompts me with a dialogue / modal to perform an action, I have to click its button twice instead of just once.

eg: the “Save password”/ “Update password” prompt requires me to click “Save” or “Update” two times in order to dismiss it. It’s as if the first click is needed to switch focus to the dialogue.

*** Steps to reproduce

  1. Login to a website in Brave that doesn’t have a saved password.
  2. When prompted, elect to save the password in Brave using the built-in password manager

*** Actual result

this action will not accept a single click on the (eg:) “save password” button. It needs a second click to register.

*** Expected result

Button should only need to be clicked once to register, as in every other example of similar interactions.

*** Reproduces how often

Every darn time.

*** Brave version (brave://version info)

Brave 1.76.73 Chromium: 134.0.6998.45 (Official Build) (64-bit)
Revision 7ce94109896c1bebebdd37d24b4ccf28e47deef0
OS Windows 11 Version 24H2 (Build 26100.3194)

**Additional Information:
This is the same issue as reported in previous threads which were automatically closed.
Is this an uncommon problem?
Could it be something to do with the way the dialogue does or doesn’t grab focus?

We have an open issue for this here:

I’ve added your report to the Github issue for the team to review.
