Dots appearing in navigation, on websites, etc

Description of the issue:
White dots appear over sections or entire websites after a couple of seconds. Webpages, media, etc. seems to be working, though the experience is definitely damped. Sometimes the navigation bar and other parts of the window are affected as well.

Steps to Reproduce (add as many as necessary): 1. 2. 3.

  1. Launch Brave
  2. Head to a website, i.e. https://brave.com
  3. Wait a couple of seconds and see white dots appearing everywhere.

Actual Result (gifs and screenshots are welcome!):

Expected result:
No white dots would appear ideally.

Reproduces how often:
Consistent behaviour after restarting brave.

Operating System and Brave Version(See the About Brave page in the main menu):
Windows 10 Pro
Version 1.2.41 Chromium: 79.0.3945.88 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Additional Information:
Effect appears faster when brave doesn’t has focus or atleast mouse cursor is out side of the window (i.e. on a second screen)
Installed extension:

  • BetterTTV 7.2.73

@CardbaordAgent,

Can you try disabling Hardware Acceleration in settings to see if this resolves the issue?

You’ll find this in Settings --> Additional Settings --> System --> Hardware Acceleration
