Do I have to pay taxes for Brave BAT awards?

If the BAT is redeemed for gift cards (TAP Network) or I transfer the BAT to my checking account is this taxable? I use Turbotax, so I’m trying to determine if Brave BAT is taxable and how I can easily automate the BAT to Turbotax (perhaps through Taxbit). thank you for your asssistance

Hello,
To be clear, I’m not certified to give you any advice in this matter.
But what I know is that IRS identifies crypto as property, not currency. As a result, tax rules that apply to property (not real estate) transactions, like selling collectible coins or vintage cars that can appreciate in value, also apply to cryptocurrencies.
