DNS error 12/21/24 after Win10 forced update

Win 10 forced update overnight disabled Brave; I reversed the W10 update. Then Firefox working well. “This site can’t be reached” and “no Internet”. DNS troubleshooting says “problem cannot be indentified”.

mail.yahoo.com’s DNS address could not be found. Diagnosing the problem.

DNS_PROBE_POSSIBLE

Reload does not help. I cleared Brave cache. No help. Closed and reopened Brave: no help. My ISP TWN tech support reports there is no problem on their end. Thanks for help.

Also, you may need to . . .

In a Brave Browser New Window, go to:

brave://net-internals/#dns

Click on Clear host cache

Next, same window, select “Sockets” on the left.

Click Close idle sockets

Click Flush socket pools

Quit everything and Restart your computer.

And . . .

Flush the Windows OS DNS cache:

Open a Command prompt, then run it as an administrator:

  • Right click CMD
  • Click Run as administrator

Type or paste each command below

  • ipconfig /release
  • ipconfig /flushdns
  • ipconfig /renew
  • netsh int ip reset

Then Restart your Windows OS computer.

In other words: Clean House

And . . .

Manually set DNS server numbers, where you can/are able.

Test your issue with a new Brave Browser Profile

Disable all extensions (also, removing them).

Test extensions by enabling one-at-a-time. One or more as a combination may work. You may discover one or more that are not compatible.
