Distill Page - not saving custom settings

Description of the issue:

When using Distill Page, each time it is accessed requires custom font size and page background settings to be changed. These changes are not saved/remembered page to page.

How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Access Distill Page from the Hamburger menu. Change font size/face/background colour
  2. Close tab and access Distill Page on another webpage
  3. Custom Settings are not remembered and must be set again

Expected result:

Changes made should be saved/remembered between calls to Distill Page

Brave Version( check About Brave):

Version 1.4.96 Chromium: 80.0.3987.132 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Additional Information:

MacOS 10.14.6

For comparison, Brave on Android works as expected and remembers my custom styles in Simplified View

Hi @TangledWire, welcome to Community!

The distill feature currently is exactly what comes with Chromium and it does not retain the settings.
However, we are working on a speedreader feature that can replace the distill function.

Thanks for the reply. I suspected this may be an upstream problem. Didn’t think it would be a hard fix to implement.

Looking forward to the speedreader functionality.
