disappearing tab groups and site search short cut not working

**-tab groups disappeared when closing the app then re opening it (have only happened once)
-site search short cut not working when pressing the designated action key

How can this issue be reproduced?
-tab groups disappearance-
1.have tabs running (about 20+ outside and inside the group with many being unloaded)
2.close the app
3.reopen it (close interval)

-site search-
1.have ex: the “1” for gpt (url is" https://chatgpt.com/ ")
2.press the “1” key
3.shows history with 1
Expected result:
-still have the tab groups after closing the app
-site search shortcut works with the designated key

Additional Information:
-site search-
worked perfectly for merely 2 minute ago
was working fine b4 the newest update wonder does it have to do with it
-tab groups-
open re-opened it several time b4 noticing the disappearance

-did multiple restart

  • restarted the flags
    -no crash logs
  • have checked the other similar (2 recent one) doesnt seems alike no clue

That’s because this isn’t a valid entry. If you don’t follow instructions, it won’t work. It clearly tells you to replace the search query with %s. You can’t just put the main web domain in to work.

@yuno actually there’s been a lot of back-and-forth. So the way I understood it is you were trying to do it for the search engine. But now I’m pretty sure you meant what is being talked about at Site search shortcut keys not working in Brave browser which is that people were trying to use that same mechanism to cheat the system so to speak in order to navigate to website websites with just a quick shortcut.

I say cheat the system because it was always meant to perform searches but people just found a different way of using it.

And it was now removed upstream by chromium and they said that that was intentional. And based on the feedback that I’m seeing from the developers here for Brave it seems that it’s not going to be brought back. But they are working on introducing something that might be a bit of a workaround using bookmarks
