I had a ton of stuff in direct messages to myself that I now cannot access as well as a few sentimental messages I would have liked to save. Wish there had been a heads up notice in advance pinned globally to allow users to save the content of any messages they wanted to keep externally.
I do not have a problem with disabling direct messaging, just a problem with losing the historical messages that were already there. Lost a ton of work and references that I am definitely going to miss!
