When the browser has new tab set to home page with a custom url new tab will focus on the address bar. Chrome you can disable this feature so not sure if it’s core feature or not but really should be able to disable that.
The reason is that if anyone is using a custom url on new tab, thats probably because they have a dashboard/portal/homepage that acts as their entry or custom search etc. So we have to have an extra step (ESC) if we want to interact with the page we start with.
If there is a extension that does this, would be fine with that too.
Expected behavor
- Set custom url
- Open new tab
- Focus should be on page not the address bar
