Difference in blockings ads and trackers with Epic browser?

I’m not sure where to post this so here it is, you can move it if you need to.
I am looking into various alternative browsers. I am looking at Epic and am now trying Brave and have reviewed your web pages and settings, business model, etc.
I had Epic and Brave open at the same time and sent each to various sites and looked at what they were blocking.
I have each set to accept local site cookies but block third party cookies. In Brave I have fingerprint protection on and block all ads.
Here are some sites I went to and what each said it was blocking, how many ads and trackers blocked. There seems to be quite a discrepancy in numbers. Can anyone explain why this would be? Thanks!

Washington post front page:
	Epic = 12
	Brave - 10
Guardian.co.uk front page -
	Epic = 19
	Brave - 9 + 1 fingerprint
A slashdot post -
	Epic = 34
	Brave - 9
