Did I sign on with a new device?

Emails or warning messages asking me. Some extra security when logging in at certain financial institutions. I fully approve. I just want to understand what’s going on.

I thought I understood why different browsers on the same machine (or the same browser after an update) would be a “new device”. I figured it was picking up on some combination of the user agent and IP address.

But after switching to Brave I’ve been getting that sort of message every so often without any obvious change, and not just at one institution.

Is Brave randomizing something for security? Or the latest underlying Chrome version ditto? Or … ???

Are you clearing browsing data either manually, or using any of the automated methods built into Brave?
