Is there anyone who can provide any feedback or help?
This syncing thing is now getting into my skin…
I have literally the same issue , Im getting more and more doubled devices of my PC and my macbook … its really annoying me
Let me tag in @Mattches right quick just so it’s on his radar.
@MissAimi ,
Can you please try using the Delete Sync account
option at the bottom of the Sync page on your Android device? This will completely remove your data from Sync and remove all devices from the chain. Note that any data on your devices will not be deleted — you’re only deleting the Sync chain .
Then start a new chain and check to see if the issue persists.

Well, I am not the thread creator, but I am facing the same issue. Even with a new sync chain. What did I do:
created new chain on Brave MacOs (1.68.128) on my MacBook
added iPhone (1.67.127)
added iPad (1.67.127)
whenever I quit and restart the Brave on MacBook a new copy of the MacBook device appears on iPhone and iPad! The Brave browser on the MacBook does not show any duplications of itselfs!
Additional observation:
In the “Sync Node Browser” under “devices” I can see three devices on MacOS. The Mac, the iPhone and the iPad. No duplicates.
On the iPhone and iPad I do see multiple copies of the MacBook. Each device copy has its own device id (so they are different). Only one copy holds the same device id as it is shown on the MacBook.
Edit: Cannot test it now. But when I noticed the issue a few days ago, I had a lot of copies from my Windows Brave too… So it looks like an issue with the Desktop Version, that keeps creating new devices without noticing them. Until now, I did not see any mobile devices duplicating.
Edit 2: If you delete the duplicates on iPhone or iPad that do not share the same device id as the is shown in the MacOS Brave (but keep the one, that is shown in MacOS Brave), the sync stops working completely. Seems like the Desktop browsers are not only creating new devices that are invisible to themself, but they are also syncing new bookmarks using the new device ids.

### Description
Seeing users report that their devices are being duplicated on … the Sync chain after being added. This is present across all platforms (Desktop, iOS and Android). Once a device is added to the chain, duplicate entries for that device appear in `Settings --> Managed Synced devices`:

Further, as illustrated above, they seem to _continue_ duplicating over time. One user encountering this also included some additional details:
> Cannot test it now. But when I noticed the issue a few days ago, I had a lot of copies from my Windows Brave too… So it looks like an issue with the Desktop Version, that keeps creating new devices without noticing them. Until now, I did not see any mobile devices duplicating.

This behavior occurs consistently, even if the Sync chain is completely deleted and start fresh.
### Steps to reproduce
1. Start a Sync chain
2. Add other devices to it
3. Observe devices suplicating
### Actual result
Duplicate devices appear on Sync chain
### Expected result
Device should only appear once in list after added to the chain
### Reproduces how often

Additionally, I can see this occur on my end as well — although they do not _continue_ to duplicate for me, I do see the same device added multiple times, despite only ever having been Synced once:

Issue above was marked Closed, not sure why. Bug definitely still exists.
Someone created a new issue to raise it again:

### Description
Devices on the same synchronization chain continue to be duplic… ated at my place, despite this bug having been fixed a few days ago.
Tested on 2 different PCs: one running Linux Xubuntu 22.04 and the other Xubuntu 24.04.
Both run Brave Version 1.70.117 Chromium: 129.0.6668.59 (Official Build) (64-bit).
Cookies are deleted each time the browser is closed.
In use, the two synchronized devices duplicate each other, and old duplicates have to be removed manually.
### Steps to reproduce
1. Synchronize both devices on the same channel.
2. Delete cookies each time you close the Brave browser.
3. Start, browse and stop Bave several times a day.
### Actual result
Devices are automatically duplicated in the synchronization chain and must be deleted manually on subsequent days.
Note: Only duplicates from device A are visible on device B, and vice versa.
### Expected result
Devices synchronized on the same chain should not be duplicated.
### Reproduces how often
Easily reproduced
