Habe mir Brave runtergeladen.
Brave ver: v1.77.95
Windows ver: 22H2 (Build 19045.5679)
I have a problem with the warning in Brave that keeps popping up. I have tried all possible steps to remove it, but without success. I hope someone from the community can help me.
So I found out that my “default_browser_infobar_declined_count” is 0. But in the local-state file (which is in C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\BraveSoftware\Brave-Browser\User Data\Local State) there are no default_browser settings at all.
Possibly, the Local State file permissions (and other permissions) need to be fixed, reset.
Yeah . . . but . . . the Local State file must be OK for writing to it, because other settings would not be set? A puzzle.
Fix or reset the permissions anyway.
By the way, you are correct about the path to the Local State file . . . and I updated my earlier reply; thanks.
Bah. I just check the Local State file for another Windows OS machine, and it also DOES NOT HAVE the default_browser_infobar_declined_count
So . . . I need to investigate more; apologies . . . and bah, again. I have not found, in either the Local State or the Preferences file (inside a Profile folder):
default_browser_infobar_declined_count
So, my suggestion is out-of-date, other than, fixing/resetting permissions.
Running Brave as administrator seems to have worked. Well it kept all my settings and didn’t asked again, even after closing and restarting my pc, so I guess it’s saved now. I also checked default_browser_infobar_declined_count and it’s still 0, but that won’t make any problems anymore I hope.
So I thank you a lot for helping me out here!
