@brrbrtt try disabling Hardware Acceleration in settings to see if this resolves the issue. You’ll find this in brave://settings/system
> Use hardware acceleration when available
> toggle off
> relaunch
Brave.
Unfortunately that didn’t work
Could you please disable Vulkan
from your settings to see if that works? To do so, please go to brave://flags
> Search Vulkan
> Disable Vulkan
> Reset
.
Tried that, still the same
Is there a way to reinstall Brave but keep my data to repair any issues? Like reinstall but not lose things like bookmarks and password, BAT wallet, etc
You could try creating a new profile on Brave to see if the issue persist there, to do so, go to main menu
> create a new profile
> Done
.
Let me know if that works.
I tried that a month ago, didn’t work
@brrbrtt double check on your extensions manager to disable all of your extensions to see if it persist.
- On your computer, open Brave.
- At the top right, click
Menu
→More tools
→Extensions
. - On to the extension you want to remove, click
Remove
. - Confirm by clicking Remove.
Let me know if that works.
Regards.
I have tried to disable them all yes. And it didn’t work. Multiple profiles also seem to not share extensions. And the steps you’ve given aren’t for disabling but removing the extensions fully
@brrbrtt do you have any external theme enabled on your device? Also go to brave://settings/appearance
>Theme
and change it to see if that solves the issue.
No theme, just Brave colours on dark which doesn’t seem to affect it as images are still messed up on light. Is there no way to repair the installation without affecting my bat, passwords, extensions, data in general?
Edit: I’m asking since repairing the installation seems like a nice step to take to see if it will fix but I also don’t want to lose my data
@brrbrtt if you have a wallet with your verified earnings with one of our custodial account providers, your Bat will be accesible from there, however if you do not a wallet, the BATs will not be saved if you reinstall the browser.
What about data, extensions, passwords, etc?
@brrbrtt you can export it on an HTML file by going to brave://bookmarks/
> three dots menu
> export bookmarks
, and once you have installed it again you will be prompted to import settings and you only need to select the HTML file.
Please note that the HTML file only saves browsing history, bookmarks and saved passwords.
Hi there @brrbrtt are you still experiencing this same issue or did it got solved?
Please let me know.
Hey Kevin, yeah the images are still bugged. I did not uninstall though.
@brrbrtt on Brave go to brave://flags/
and search for Choose ANGLE graphics backend
there select OpenGL
and reset the browser to save the changes.
Let me know if that works.
I also haven’t used one of those and since they’ve been installed for quite a while I don’t think that’s the issue
Still doesn’t work, nope
@brrbrtt have you tried using that extension on a different chromium based browser such as chrome or Edge to see if the images still show their color inverted?
Be waiting for the response.
