Same pointer issue for me except that I also notice the fonts in the browser itself are much larger as well (they appear to be increased by the same amount as the cursor). To be clear, the content font of a web page is as expected but, for example, the URL that shows up at the bottom when you mouse over a link is significantly larger.

Downgrade to 1.76.82 seems to resolve.

  • Debian 12
  • Gnome 43.9
  • Scaling set to 200%

Exactly describes my problem as well.

Manjaro
MATE 1.28.2

The updated version of the browser (1.77.95) came in by itself earlier tonight, so it’s not an issue caused by other software updates.

Get available versions:
apt list -a brave-browser

Select the previous version i.e. brave-browser/stable 1.76.82 amd64

Rollback:
sudo apt install brave-browser=1.76.82

Restart Brave.

Works on Debian 12, GNOME, x11, scaling %200

You can prevent unwanted upgrade until the bug is fixed by:
sudo apt-mark hold brave-browser

Confirming for Ubuntu 22.04.4 LTS & Brave 1.77.95, 200% display scale.

Just the cursor scaling affected. Other window elements mentioned (e.g. URL hint, fonts) unaffected.

Rolling back to Brave 1.76.82 fixes it.

Ubuntu 22.04.5 LTS and Breve Versión 1.77.97 Chromium: 135.0.7049.84 (Build oficial) (64 bits, same issue.
Update to v1.77.100 same issue…It would be kind and appropriate from the developers if they would provide a definitive solution in the next update!

Confirmed.
Workaround = Force the size in environment with
XCURSOR_SIZE=32
