Hello, I detected a critical bug in the payment system!

  • First, the user opens the dev tools and then opens the application page
  • User selects new tab data in local storage
  • User can change any info to any info! like brave rewards

Please, don’t terminate me and fix the bug!

@Mattches @steeven @sampson @SaltyBanana please address this issue. Not sure cause I haven’t tried it yet but please take a look at this.

This may change the number displayed on the new tab page and/or other places, but you will not actually earn that amount of BAT. There are several checks that need to happen before payment is made that prevent this type of thing from happening on the backend. You should not be flagged for this, nor will you receive the amount displayed.
