Crash when accessing https://visualstudio.microsoft.com/

Hello, today I was able to visit https://visualstudio.microsoft.com/ . Now Brave crashes every time I visit the site.

I have temporarily enabled sending crash reports & usage statistics, but disabled it again after recording it. As long as I don’t know what is being sent, I will leave it deactivated (I already asked for information in another post).

One more small request: Please separate the crash reports and the sending of usage statistics in 2 settings. I would then leave the crash reports activated.

Version 0.55.12 Chromium: 70.0.3538.45 (Official Build) beta (64-Bit)

I have the same now with Prime Video.
When I open the watchlist and select “Movies”, Brave crashes.

The problem with the Microsoft site has partly solved itself. It worked again over time.

I can’t reproduce it with above mentioned sites, but the same problem occurs for me too at
https://pro.coinbase.com/

Edit:
Brave rewards disabled.
(Brave Rewards icon is till on the right side of the address-bar tho)

@MediaBird

@Aequita, Brave Rewards icon displays even if Rewards is disabled.

We’ve been getting a lot of people experiencing crashing after the latest update. I understand if you’re uncomfortable sending the crash reports, but they do help quite a bit. Additionally, can you (both) tell me what OS you’re using?

@Mattches, I just enabled crash report sending and reproduced the problem.
Was this enough from my side? Do I have to do any other steps?

Nope! You may need to relaunch your browser to enable automatic sending after its toggled on. If the reports weren’t sent automatically, you should see a “Send Now” button on each crash report. Click those to send them through.

I relaunced before forcing a crash.
Only got the “Restore session” (or similar, I don’t remember exactly ) button.
So I guess everything should’ve went through properly.

Thanks for your replys!

Edit:
Forgot OS-Info:
Windows 10 Pro 1809
Brave 0.55.12

I am using Windows 10 1809

Wait, I don’t see a crash report, my browser just closes without feedback.

I too, have started experiencing a lot of crashing today. I noticed Brave auto-updated to 0.55.12. I have just enabled the sending of crash reports in hopes it will provide useful info. The crashing for me occurs on a close event of a tab. I will open up a lot of tabs, say 25-30 and as I finish reading a tab I will close it with the X or via middle-click and immediately upon closing the tab the entire browser window kicks out without warning, taking all my tabs with it. Sometimes “restore session” works to bring back my lost tabs, sometimes not.

@MediaBird,
Navigate to chrome://crashes to see crash reports.
Thanks for the info @Aequita!

You’re also welcome to copy/paste your crash reports here if you’d like. I’ll make sure they’re seen by the right people.

Cool thing!
Can we ourselves see additional details to those reports or just the ID and if it was (not) sent?

Just the information available.

I don’t know exactly what to post and which of all the crashes. Here is an example:
Local crash ID: fecacc07-7152-42b9-8425-4154fc6c9379
Crash report recorded: Thursday, 11 October 2018 17:16:54 (Upload requested by user but not yet completed)

It’s a grayed out report.
I have most of them.

Here is one that is not grayed out:
ID of the uploaded crash report: 3538cca2e1c7f2b5 (local crash ID: d2efecf8-bdb4-4a76-aff6-a7e8fb666567)
Crash recorded on Thursday, October 11, 2018 at 17:16:30 and uploaded on Thursday, October 11, 2018 at 17:16:43

Specify further details

I have clicked on send again in all reports.

I still have a screenshot, but all this stuff is not in English. I changed the language of Brave before, the page was still not displayed differently. Sorry.

A hint at the end:
If I click on “Specify more details” in the reports that are not grayed out, a Google page is displayed (https://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/[...]] with a long string sequence). Is that the intention?

i’m getting crashes on pro.coinbase.com too. crashed every time i logged in

I have the same issue with coinbase pro, everytime I reopen a new instance of Brave it crashes when I go to my coinbase pro bookmark. On Windows 10.

If you dont have automatic crash reporting enabled, you can copy/paste your crash info (find this by going to chrome://crashes) here so the team can get eyes on it.

Thanks for reporting!

Been getting a lot of random crashes, with no error message as well, since the latest Brave update.
Sent a bunch of them manually. Nothing specific seems to trigger it, at least not something I could figure out. Just straight up browser closing and nothing else.

Yessir! Appreciate it

Oops, my bad. @Shum, it looks like you didn’t send the crash reports.
Unless you have automatic crash reporting enabled (it’s disabled by default) you’ll have to hit the “send now” button underneath the crash:
