Nope, you’re right on point! Google related tabs seem to be frequent offenders with respect to crashes, but it’s not limited to them. We’ve been aware of the crashes and are working on addressing them. See other discussions here:
Hello, today I was able to visit https://visualstudio.microsoft.com/ . Now Brave crashes every time I visit the site.
I have temporarily enabled sending crash reports & usage statistics, but disabled it again after recording it. As long as I don’t know what is being sent, I will leave it deactivated (I already asked for information in another post).

Brave Beta seems to crash pretty frequently when browsing reddit. It took a bit of time to find something I could reproduce, but I think I found it.

Scroll down until you find the comment that says “First trailer to drop on Monday” The easiest way to find this is to hit page down to load the comments then search for “first trailer” using the search tool. (If I directly link to the comment, it doesn’t seem to crash.)
