Crash on form submissions

Description of the issue:
Brave crashes silently when submitting a valid form and getting redirected as a result. The crash does not happen without a redirect, for example if the password is incorrect.

I previously had this issue on another fresh windows install but after one reboot it never happened again. This time, on a different machine, it persists.

How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Install Windows 11 24H2 (and install all available updates)
  2. Download and install Brave from website
  3. Go to google and try logging in

Expected result:
Not crashing and redirecting to next page or form.

Brave Version:
v 1.77.101

Additional Information:
Windows 11 Pro 24H2 26100.3775
AMD Ryzen 7 2700X
16GB RAM 2400MHz

After you click the “Send Now” button, return to brave://crashes and gather up the Crash ID numbers. Post the numbers, here, in a new reply.

Here are some of the crash reports:

The two from the first video are still on “Upload requested by user” status.

Quick update! This is related to https://github.com/brave/brave-browser/issues/45546 and we’re looking into it now.

Hi, this issue also happened to me today on a clean install. I have read the discussions regarding this issue and I didn’t notice anyone mentioning a specific detail; as far as I can understand this issue is with Chromium expecting a locale value from the operating system (or something?), I’m running a fresh Windows 11 ISO with the “English / World” locale for the first time, and this is also the first time encountering this issue. Perhaps the “World” locale messes up the inner workings of the current build?

Anyway, disabling autofill in brave settings solved it for now, just wanted to leave it here.
