Could my old OS be stopping Brave Ads?

I use MacOS Catalina 10.15.7 and Brave 1.35.101. Up until recently I was getting Brave Ads on my MacBook no problem and suddenly they stopped. They still work on my iPhone and iPad.

Other than updating Brave, nothing about my laptop setup or settings has changed. I even double-checked after reading through other posts and FAQs on the matter.

Could it be that my Mac’s operating system is too out of date?
