Corrupted cache leads to crash

Description of the issue:
Browser crashes at start if site cache has been corrupted before.

How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Download Epic Games Store launcher (or other software, that works with browser cache directly)
  2. Make a few actions to begin authorization process (*while playing game) in downloaded software
  3. Wait for MS Windows fatal error
  4. Reload system and find out that browser cache is corrupted
  5. Try to open Brave in default mode

Expected result:
Browser ignores corrupted cache/tries to repair it or shows warning.
Actual result:
Browser crashes after loading site’s cache

Version:
1.14.84 Chromium: 85.0.4183.121 (Dev) (64-розрядна версія)

Additional Information:
The fact that browser cache has been corrupted is definetely EGS problem, nevertheless it has uncovered Brave launch bug.
Before system crash browser was in private mode.
Corrupted cache is related to site: www.epicgames.com

Can provide cache files & logs via e-mail/community messages

Able to solve by renaming “Appdata/Local/BraveSoftware/Brave-Browser/User Data” to “__User Data”, starting browser, adding new profile, copying all the cache from “__User Data” to the newly created “User Data” and restarting the browser.

first glad to know you figured it out but the question is
does this always happen manytimes

if those 2 points keep happening then there issue related the epicgame or your windows and i think it related to windows

and have a nice day
