This has been happening for a couple of months now in my arch linux (cac
hyos) install, though it did not up until late last year, and has been s
lowly chipping away at my sanity.
To be more specific, it logs me out of most sites (chatgpt, proton.me, r
eddit, etc) but not on Deepseek for example. I’ve looked a bit into it, and I think the issue is that the login cookies are simply not being saved. Why? When I reboot my laptop, sites with shields down still ask for cookie preferences after being set on previous sessions.
And yes, I have:
- Checked ‘clear on exit’ settings, nothing is set to be cleared.
- Put shields down on sites for test (claude.ai, proton.me, gmail.com, etc).
- Tested on both Stable (1.80, though it has been a issue for months) and Beta channels (1.81)
- Selected ‘Allow all cookies’ globally (not that this should matter, the sites were tested with shields down)
- No extensions installed.
- Tested the same sites on Firefox, and all of them work even with a uBlock configured with most filter lists, so I doubt it is due to some OS program cleaning the data.
**Steps to Reproduce (add as many as necessary):
I’ve tried uninstalling and removing all local data from .cache, .config
and .local, so even a default install of both stable and beta reproduces it.
Actual Result (gifs and screenshots are welcome!):
Cookie Settings and logins are simply not read/present/followed by sites after a reboot.
Expected result:
The sites should not ask for the same settings for the cookies, and ideally should auto login.
Reproduces how often:
Always on reboot.
