Cookie consent pop-up doesn´t show up on Cocote.com

The site https://fr.cocote.com/ (on chrome, edge, firefox etc…) a modal popup where one has to accept or reject cookies. Brave doesn’t show the popup, thereby rendering the site inaccessible.

Hello,

Can support please can check this issue ?

regards

@cocotecom ,

Using iPhone 14, Brave Browser version 1.73 (97), and Brave Browser Settings > Shields & Privacy >

BRAVE SHIELDS GLOBAL DEFAULTS settings:

  • Trackers & Ads Blocking: Aggressive
  • Block Scripts: enabled
  • Block all Cookies: disabled
  • Block Fingerprinting: enabled
  • Block Cookie Consent Notices: enabled

OTHER PRIVACY SETTINGS:

  • Private Browsing Only: enabled

I sent BB to your URL address link:

At first, there was a blank page.

So, I used the site specific Brave Shields settings (I tapped the Brave icon that you see in the upper-right corner of the following screenshot) and I DISABLED:

  • Block Scripts

The result:

Hi,

Thank you for the detailled answer.

I’m owner of the website https://fr.cocote.com/

Can i fix it in anyway (maybe it’s related to popup name / id or specific script name ?)

Many users complain about website not accessible, i can tell some how to fix (disabling shield) but many will just exit without asking.

BR

any feedback about that issue ? thanks

You need to modify your website, to include an initial javascript pop-up message box, with a message - such as:

“In your browser settings, please allow javascript for ‘fr.cocote.com’ - thank you.”

PS. As I wrote previously about testing via my iPhone, I also tested by using Brave Browser (MacOS). I used the Site-Specific Brave Shields setting for javascript ← enabled that, and your website’s cookie consent pop-up showed.

Thank you but nobody will do that.

Is there other possibility to bypass this brave specific ?

i mean maybe it’s because of popup id / name that make considered as ads (but it’s just gpdr)

BR

no workaround here to make it work without asking user ?

Thank you
