Contrasting borders (black/white) in Brave browser without high contrast being turned on on Windows

Description of the issue: Contrasting borders (black/white) appeared in Brave Windows browser without high contrast turned on in OS. As I gather, it’s a recurrent issue but alas I was not able to find the solution. Have seen @Mattches in these threads, so maybe there’s a way to solve this? Sorry if I mentioned you wrongfully.

Expected result: No disruptive borders.

Brave Version( check About Brave): Brave 1.80.115 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Chromium: 138.0.7204.97


It looks like you may have some sort of accessibility feature enabled. I can see this if I go to Settings --> Accessibility in Brave and toggle the Show a quick highlight on the focused object option “on”. When I do I get this weird little highlight when I click around just like yours (note that I’m in dark mode so it looks slightly different):
