Description of the issue: The Settings toggle “Continue running background apps when Brave is closed” is not working for me. I uninstalled, restarted the computer, reinstalled, and restarted and while it was working before, Brave will now close completely every time I close all Windows, and never shows an icon in the taskbar, regardless of whether the toggle is on or not. I have tried turning it off, restarting, and turning it back on and it did not help.
Brave Version: 1.14.84
That setting is for updater to run in the background. If you enable it when ever there is a release available it will check and auto download it. Does this clarify ?
Everything I read online says that it allows, as it states, apps to run in the background, allowing, for examples, Hangouts to notify, password managers to not lock, etc. And now it has randomly started working again, so Brave is remaining running in the background with an icon in the system tray. Not sure why it wasn’t working but the issue seems to have gone away.
Not sure may be a residual process running but glad its fixed. Going to close the thread for now. Please open a new one if you need any other help
