During normal browsing, tabs frequently become unresponsive and I have to restart Brave desktop before continuing. A bit less often, Brave crashes all on its own and must be restarted. It does offer the ability to restore tabs.
I very rarely had problems with Brave before enabling the option to release memory for idle tabs. I’ve tried turning it off but get frequent “not enough memory” errors when opening new tabs.
I habitually keep many (~50) tabs open for easy access to reference material and in-process projects. This may be related to the problem.
I’m running the latest version of Brave [Version 1.67.123 Chromium: 126.0.6478.126 (Official Build) (64-bit)] and Windows 10 with the latest updates as of July 1, 2024.
I have 32 GB of RAM in my system, and according to Task Manager I have 11.2 GB available with all those tabs open in Brave.
As an old software guy, I’d say there are bugs in the memory management features you added a month or so ago.
