Concerned Feedback: Brave Browser's Privacy and Security Issues

Dear Brave Team and Community,

I’ve been a Brave user for a while, but after some critical issues, I feel it’s necessary to share my experience with the wider community. While Brave markets itself as a privacy-first browser, I’ve noticed growing concerns around its integrations with multiple companies, AI features, and sync settings. These tools are supposed to improve user experience, but to me, they introduce unnecessary complexity and potential risks for my personal data.

As a professinal In the money market, security is not just a priority — it’s a requirement. Unfortunately, I faced a serious incident like two years ago where my Metamask wallet was compromised while using Brave, leading to a total loss of funds. This experience has left me deeply concerned about the effectiveness of Brave’s security. The involvement of third-party companies and blockchain integrations further exacerbates my concerns about potential exposure to tracking, hacking, or other malicious activities.

I’ve switched back to Chrome, which, while less privacy-focused in some ways, feels safer because it keeps things simple and only interacts with Google’s products — not a chain of external providers. My money and data are too valuable to risk, and Brave’s increasing complexity no longer feels like the secure solution I originally signed up for.

I hope this feedback reaches those who value true privacy and security as much as I do. Brave’s mission is admirable, but if the browser ends up being vulnerable, it defeats the purpose entirely. I sincerely hope the team addresses these concerns in future updates.

Wishing the best for the Brave community.

I use Brave Browser for privacy and security.

But, because of occasional troubles with Brave Browser (usually caused by a new bug created by a fix of another bug) . . . I have learned how to set up Microsoft Edge to function much like Brave Browser.

And sometimes I use Firefox.
