I cannot sync my bookmarks/favourites because I have reached the maximum number of bookmarks/favourites allowed on Brave. So I have now had to stop using Brave and go back to Chrome as Chrome has no maximum number of bookmarks. I hate Chrome and I want to go back to using Brave so please scrap your maximum number of bookmarks

There is no limit to the number of bookmarks you can save in the browser. The limit is in the amount you can Sync across devices.

What is the limit to the number you can sync across devices? In chrome there is no limit to the number you can sync across devices so I have had to go back to using chrome - which I HATE!!! Why can’t Brave scrap their maximum limit?

I’ve confirmed that it’s not a specific bookmark limit — there is in total a 50k limit for all Syncable objects per Sync chain. The only one that has the limit is History, which has an upper limit of 30k objects.
We have an issue to warn users who are approaching or have hit that limit here:

Brave has no technical support - no phone number or live chat but I just googled it and found this - so I just googled brave://sync-internals/ and see attached screenshot for what it shows for bookmarks - it says I have exceeded limit of bookmarks but I didn’t know there was a limit. It is now impossible for me to sync bookmarks |

I got no warning to say I had exceeded the maximum number of bookmarks. I just noticed that they weren’t syncing and it was only when I googled it I found out it is because I had exceeded the max no
Just to clarify, Mattches, who replied above, is actually part of Brave’s support team. This forum is where developers, support agents, and users all pitch in to help out.
About the phone number or live chat—Brave doesn’t offer these, similar to Google Chrome and many other browsers.
Regarding the sync issue, we know it’s frustrating. That’s why Mattches shared the GitHub link—they’re working on adding a notice for users about the bookmark limit in the future.

The issue linked above is to include/implement a warning when users are approaching this limit. It is not yet put in place, which is why you didn’t see it.

@Lou123 Just to clarify, there’s no limit on bookmarks in Brave itself. The limit is on the total number of items that can be synced. Brave isn’t as large as Google and doesn’t have traditional user accounts, so there are more constraints on server costs and storage. As Brave grows, they’ll likely expand these capabilities, but for now, they’re working within their current setup.
