When using YouTube on the brave app, there is no comment section. If I try to use the YouTube app or YouTube on safari, it’s there, but when using YouTube on brave to avoid the constant barrage of adds you get on other apps, you can’t see the comment section. I’ve tried going through all the options and settings available, but it seems that only on brave you can’t access it.
I think you’re in (huge) minority here. My guess would be that Brave’s native shields or a YT-specific shield-setting in Brave or an extension’s shields/blocks are set in a way that is blocking YT’s comments. I’ve seen this happen with Brave & other browsers, for the same reason, on other sites.
Try temporarily turning off all Brave shields, and if needed doing the same for any extensions (and even disabling or uninstalling any such extensions) to see if you can recover YT’s comments. Then slowly turn things back on to see if you keep most shields up while allowing YT comments.
@Funknificent have you gone into your Shields settings to see what filters you’re using?
Settings → Shields & Privacy → Content Filtering
If you have YouTube Mobile Distractions enabled, that would be the potential cause. That one hides comment section and some others. But there could possibly be some other filters causing it.
Ideally I would just recommend:
- Fanboy’s Annoyances + uBO Annoyances
Then optional ones:

YouTube Anti-Shorts = If you’re like me and don’t want to see the huge list of YouTube shorts rather than normal videos

EasyList Cookie = This should be included in Fanboy’s Annoyances but I tend to leave it on just to reduce issues. This kind of gets rid of all the cookie consent notices on websites.

Brave Experimental Adblock Rules = Can debate on how useful. This is where they update some things first when YouTube or others try to start fighting against adblockers. As it says, it’s experimental but usually is more helpful than not. Can go without it.
