Visiting https://web.archive.org/web/20160106152308/http://stlab.adobe.com/wiki/images/d/d3/Test.pdf in Brave (OSX/0.12.15) displays the PDF – but the address bar shows only the “http://stlab.adobe.com/wiki/images/d/d3/Test.pdf”.
I’m relatively certain that’s not the actual URL being displayed – the Brave Dev Tools ‘Network’ tab shows only URLs starting
https://web.archive.org/ being loaded, and loading the same URL in Chrome displays the PDF with the proper source URL.
Reporting here because this is where Brave’s Help->Report an Issue leads me.
This could have security implications to the extent it misleads users about the source of a document.
It was originally seen with other PDFs in the Wayback Machine – picked this random PDF as a short, simple example. It can’t be reproduced with similar non-PDF URLs I tried, like https://web.archive.org/web/20151113135934/http://stlab.adobe.com/group__asl__overview.html.
