"Close all Chrome windows" when importing from Chrome on Ubuntu

Description of the issue:

When trying to import from Chrome profile on Ubuntu 19, Brave keep asking to close all Chrome windows although no Chrome windows are open. I tried restarting and doing the import again, before running any app. There’s no Chrome autostart on my machine and the system monitor shows no sign of any Chrome processes.

I am using Pop!OS, latest distribution.

Steps to Reproduce

Install Brave on Ubuntu and try importing an existing Chrome profile. The window “Close all Chrome windows” appears. Pressing “Try again” doesn’t help.

Reproduced always.

Operating System and Brave Version(See the About Brave page in the main menu):

Distributor ID: Ubuntu

Same problem exactly. No chrome processes running on the machine. 19 days since the Op posted?

@azimarev,
Thanks for reaching out. Do you have any extensions installed in Chrome by chance? Even if Chrome’s not running, extensions will sometimes continue to run in the background. I realize that you say you’ve already checked for these processes but better to rule out first.
