Clicking "Trust this device" on financial sites doesn't work with Brave

Description of the issue:
How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Log onto financial site (schwab.com, Ally Bank, etc)
  2. Go through 2 step verification
  3. Click “This is a trusted device”

Expected result:
Not to have to do 2 step verification the next time I login. This procedure works with other browsers.

Brave is up to date

Brave 1.80.115 (Official Build) (64-bit)

This issue has been reported a couple of times over the last few years, with no replies.

@mgmcderm Have you ever tried disabling Shields on those websites? Features like fingerprint randomization can make your device appear different, which might cause the site to question whether the cookie is valid and trigger extra verification like you’re seeing.
