Clicking Links - New Tab/Same Tab

Description of the issue:
How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Is there a way, or an extension that would allow clicking on links to have them open in a new tab, but if the link has a target attribute (same address as site you’re on) it will open in the same tab? Kind of like how Tab Mix Plus - Links works for Firefox? Thanks!

Expected result:
The expected result is when clicking on a link which is to a different site, it opens in a new tab, but if it’s on the same site, it opens in the same tab.

Brave Version( check About Brave):
Version 0.69.132 Chromium: 77.0.3865.90 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Additional Information:

@TheWayOfYahweh,
No built-in option for this at this time, but I did manage to find a few extensions that may work for you:

Thank you very much, will give them a try.

Ok, here are the extensions to get this to work (both Brave and Dissenter browsers):

LongClickNewTab 2.1
Switch To New Tab

Now, if only there was a way to have links in the bookmarks bar to open in a new tab instead of the same/current tab :frowning: Tried installing Fluid Bookmarks, but for some reason, the bar drops, but no bookmarks show in the bar. Also, to have more than one row of bookmarks in the bar would be great as well.

Strange, simple things like these should be built in and available, including being able to customize positions in the url bar, but, ole goolag, restrictive and controlling, conformity is their game…

@TheWayOfYahweh,
You can always just ctrl + click the bookmarks bar link to open them in a new tab?
