Click link and I'm directed to page to upgrade Brave

I’m working in Free Cad and when I click on the tutorials tab I’m directed to a page requesting I upgrade Brave. I update, but still I’m not directed to the desired page.

@Echidna,

Please repost (or edit your original post) to reflect the template and guidelines and we’d be more than happy to assist you.

I’m sitting here wondering why you even responded. Is your response suppose to help?

@Echidna,
I can’t help you if don’t have any information about what your setup is. All I know is that when you’re working in something called “Free Cad” (never used or heard of this before), apparently there’s a “tutorials” tab that asks you to update or upgrade?

This would be like going into a car repair shop and saying “Sometimes my car makes a noise, what’s wrong with it?”.

  • What Operating System are you using?
  • Can you share the exact link to “Free Cad”?
  • Are you using the Release version of Brave or one of the Beta/Dev/Nightly builds?
  • What exactly does the page that tells you to upgrade say?
  • Does the site work with Shields down?

Windows 10 Home

https://www.freecadweb.org Here’s a link to the site. It’s like CAD (computer assisted drawing) except that it is free. There is a tutorials link on the Free Cad home site. When you click on it

FreeCAD: Your own 3D parametric modeler

FreeCAD, the open source 3D parametric modeler

it should open on the tutorials page. Kind of looks like wikipedia. Maybe it is wikipedia. However, it opens into Brave’s home page, telling me I need to upgrade to the latest version of Brave. My guess I’m using the Release version of Brave. See attached for screen shot. Didn’t mess with shields as I’m not certain of their function(s). Thank you for your response. I apologize that you’re having to deal with a person that is not very computer/technologically savvy.

@Echidna,

No worries at all and I apologize if my previous reply seemed short or snappy in any way. I’m here to help anyone use Brave regardless of their skill level :slight_smile:

So on my end, when I visit freecadweb.org – using Brave Release (v0.68.131), on macOS – I seem to be able to browse the site without issue. That said, I don’t think I see a tutorials section as you describe?

Closest I could find was the documentation section, which you’ll see me navigate to in the gif below:

This is using default Shields settings as well:

You mentioned sending a screenshot in your last post but I don’t think the file was ever attached – can you try sending another screenshot of the page you land on, telling you to upgrade? Note that on this forum, you can simply copy/paste images into the editor to send image/gif/video attachments.

You’re on the correct site. It’s somewhat different than what opens for me. But, the free cad home page, which is pictured in you gif, on the right-hand side is where the tutorials “button” is located on my version which I have updated recently.Yes. I got a noticed saying an attachment failed but, I wasn’t sure which one or both failed.Apparently, it didn’t have the correct “suffix”. I"ll try it again.
