I have been using brave from long time more but when ever I try to claim my free tokens I get the error as shown in the image. Please let me know if there is any thing wrong that I am doing.
@pramod882 first, you’re using an outdated and deprecated Brave (muon). This version is no longer supported and has been replaced by the new Brave Browser (brave-core) 0.66.x and higher.
You should get the upgrade notification. If you not see it, can you try download the new version from brave.com ?
No need to uninstall the current Brave . You can run it in parallel. After you installed the new version, you can import your browser data from prev. Brave.
And recover your Brave Rewards wallet too (if you have any)
Thanks
Thanks for your reply.
Is this the new version. For some reason I followed the steps that you mentioned. The I see total 3 apps of brave installed in my Ubuntu 18.
So I tried “sudo apt remove brave” then “sudo apt remove brave-browser”
And as I am trying to remove the other installation, on command prompt it saying as folllows in image.
Can you conform If the version existing in my Ubuntu 18 is new version or not, and how come it was not listing.
sudo apt-get update
then install brave.
Brave was there but I don’t understand why it was not listing under installed applications and is the version from the images shown above is newest or not.
Yes. That’s the new version. But it seems it’s an outdated version. The latest stable release is 0.66.x.
