I’d like to suggest the integration of direct Chromecast support (Cast button) into the Brave browser for Android phones. Additionally, I propose restoring the prominent Cast icon in the desktop browser’s toolbar.
Currently, using Chromecast from the Brave Android browser is cumbersome. I often have to resort to screen mirroring via the Google Home app, which significantly degrades video quality and introduces lag. Many users, especially when streaming live sports, experience a poor viewing experience due to this.
On desktop, the Cast icon has been moved deep into the browser menus, making it unnecessarily complicated to access compared to its previous direct placement.
Implementing direct Chromecast support within the Android browser and restoring the dedicated Cast icon to the desktop toolbar would greatly enhance the user experience:
- Improved Quality: Direct casting from the browser would allow for better video and audio quality, reducing lag compared to screen mirroring.
- Ease of Use: It would make casting content to the TV effortless and quick on all platforms.
- Efficiency: Restoring the desktop icon would bring back quick access to a vital function.
Given the vast number of Android users who rely on Chromecast, and the importance of quick access on desktop, these improvements would be a significant step forward and address a real user need.
