Description of the issue: How can this issue be reproduced?
Leave brave and it will pop up.
Expected result: Chromeactions says update.
Version 1.74.50 Chromium: 132.0.6834.111 (Official Build) (64-bit)
Additional Information:
I want to disable this as I tried to update brave and it says it’s fully up to date, so can I stop this pop up from coming up as it is making me mad now.
@Script20 apologies but I’m unclear as to what exactly is showing this pop-up. Are you seeing this pop-up in the browser? Is it coming from an extension or some Anti-virus software you have on your PC?
Uninstall the extension, it can no longer be trusted.
Here are some of the latest reviews:
Like so many others, I’m getting increasingly irritated by the arrival of constant ‘update your browser’ popups that repeatedly divert from whatever page you’re on, no matter how recent your latest Chrome version.
Awful extension, used to be incredible. Then the dev sold out and forces a bunch of popups that want you to “Download the newest chrome update”
I just need what it should do, anything to do with Youtube and only Youtube.
Do one job and do it well. I don’t need it to pop up telling me “Scan and Update” my Chrome.
It pops up very frequently and NO WAY to turn it off.
I’m an extension developer and often get emails from monetisation experts telling me how they can help me profit from my extensions. I always bin those emails because this is what monetisation looks like.
The monetisation guys have permission to do anything they like in your browsing session, and the people hired by the Web Store to verify extension quality have let malware slip through in the past.
